DEL Research Agenda

DEL Research Agenda

The latest Research Agenda ‘Underpinning Success’ identifies the key areas of strategically important research that the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) will seek to develop over the three year period to 2015. The research areas have been selected specifically to support policy development and delivery in areas of particular strategic importance to the Department including the areas of skills, innovation, employment and the promotion of good working practices. The associated Implementation Plan sets out, among other things, prioritisation of the research projects identified in ‘Underpinning Success’

The Department produced a Research Stock Take paper which sets out the research the Department was taking forward or planned to initiate in the interim period to cover the period up to 2011/12, rolling forward from the previous Research Agenda 2007-2009.

The Department's second Research Agenda, for 2007-2009, is available below.

The Department implemented a new strategic approach to commissioning research through its first Research Agenda 2004-2007 to reinforce its commitment to evidence based policy formation and development.

Published Research

The Department has previously commissioned research in a number of areas and copies of research summaries and full reports from completed projects can be accessed from the Research Reports page.

The Current Pojects page provides further detail on live projects.

Quarterly Research Review

The Department monitors recently published research that has relevance to the work of the Department and, each quarter, produces a list of that work for wider dissemination. Access the Quarterly Research Reviews page for further detail.
