The new Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland – ‘Success through Skills – Transforming Futures’ – sets out how the importance of management and leadership skills to the future development of the Northern Ireland economy cannot be overstated.

The Northern Ireland workforce needs to be effectively utilised and that is where good management and leadership at all levels plays a vital role.

Improved management and leadership skills are proven worldwide to be a highly effective way for companies to gain competitive edge and we need more NI companies to invest now to be better positioned for the inevitable economic upswing.

How will we do this?

We have developed a programme of informative events and information sharing, delivered in partnership with a variety of organisations who share in our ambition. We are confident that we can help NI businesses recognise and realise the benefits of improving their leadership and management skills to gain economic advantage.

Our programme is based on sharing best practice, building partnerships and engaging directly with NI companies to encourage them to consider the potential benefits of investing in leadership and management skills for their business.

We recognise that while government has an important role to play in enabling and advocating investment in Leadership & Management skills, the acquisition of higher skills and competencies is the responsibility of the employer as well as the individual. We want to engage with as many companies as possible to encourage them to invest in their own future
