Structure of the Department
The Department is headed by the Permanent Secretary, Alan Shannon, who is the Accounting Officer with responsibility for providing advice and guidance to The Minister for Employment and Learning.
The co-ordination of policy, advice and governance oversight is managed by The Department Board with support from The Senior Management Team. The Board is Chaired by The Permanent Secretary and comprises two Deputy Secretaries and two Non-Executive Directors, Mr Fred Gray and Dr Brian Scott.
The Senior Management Team is made up of The Permanent Secretary, Two Deputy Secretaries, Directors of each of the seven Divisions and an Assistant Chief Inspector from The Education Training Inspectorate. Senior Management Team.
