Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill consultation paper

Summary:

The Department for Employment and Learning and the Department of Education are co-sponsoring the proposed Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill. The objective of the Bill is primarily to give school pupils, students and users of youth services in Northern Ireland the same rights with regard to access to schools, further and higher education and youth services as exists in other parts of the United Kingdom. A consultation paper detailing proposals was launched on 27 September 2002 and the consultation period will last until 31 December 2002.
