Worktrack Programme Consultation

Summary:

Under section 75 (1) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, the Department for Employment and Learning is required, in carrying out its functions, to promote equality of opportunity among all groups specified in that section. The department, in pursuance of this objective, is now embarking on a key part of this process by undertaking an Equality Impact Assessment of its Worktrack programme. This involves consulting widely with those organisations/individuals having an interest in the programme, particularly those who represent the various Section 75 Groups. A consultation paper on the Worktrack programme was launched on 14th October 2002 and the consultation period will last until 17th January 2003.
