A Consultation on proposals to introduce variable deferred fees, access agreements and a review of the student complaints system
Summary:
The Government is committed to maintaining and developing the high standards of education provided through our higher education institutions and believes that an innovative approach is required to ensure that sufficient funding is provided for the sector. The proposed changes seek to establish robust arrangements which will enable the universities to compete successfully on a national and international basis, provide high quality teaching and research, support widened and expanded access and make a valuable contribution to the economy. This consultation paper articulates the Government’s proposals for higher education in Northern Ireland and invites your views in relation to the introduction of variable tuition fees, a Graduate Contribution Scheme, University Access Agreements and an independent adjudicator for student complaints.
