Job Introduction Scheme - Equality Impact Assessment Consultation 2006

Summary:

This scheme was reinstated in 1989 at which point the weekly grant to employers was £45. Improvements to the scheme's design and content were made and from 1 February 1999 the weekly grant was increased to £75 irrespective of whether the job is full or part-time. These elements are aimed at making provision more attractive to eligible participants and their potential employers, including those groups specified in Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998.It is appropriate at a time of moving towards a more inclusive society that Government tests its policies and programmes to ensure they are delivered impartially. This consultation document is an important part of this process and it is opportune therefore that an Equality Impact Assessment should be carried out now.This consultation runs from 1 February 2006 to 12 noon on 28 April 2006.
