Who is eligible?
The progress2work(NI) service will operate throughout Northern Ireland and is specifically for those who are claiming working age benefits and who are significantly disadvantaged in accessing the labour market as a result of
- a previous history of drug / alcohol misuse; and/or
- being homeless; and/or
- being ex-offenders/ex-prisoners.
What will happen
The progress2work(NI) Providers will employ Support Workers who will recruit disadvantaged people who fall into one or a combination of the groups mentioned. They will provide support and assistance to improve the employability of participants and help them move towards work either directly or via eduaction or training.
What help will I get?
You will be allocated a Support Worker who will help you become more employable by:
- helping you deal with personal issues that may be a barrier to moving towards work
- helping you to get training, qualifications and work experience.
