All Ireland Scholarships

The All Ireland Scholarship Scheme, which is funded by JP McManus, provides significant financial support to high achieving students from challenging economic backgrounds.

This is the second year the Scholarships are available in Northern Ireland. They will be awarded to the top 25 performing students who attend a grant aided post primary school or a further education college in Northern Ireland, and who are due to commence University in September 2010.

The Scholarship offers financial support of £5,500 per annum for the duration of their course - £16,500.00 - £22,000.00 in total!

Last year’s 25 successful students from Northern Ireland have already benefitted from the Scholarships.

Nineteen of the Scholarships will be available through the school sector and six through further education colleges. A minimum of two Scholarships will be offered in each county based on where students live.

All school sector applications must be received by 31 August 2010. In the Further Education Sector, the top 6 performing students in BTEC National Diplomas will automatically qualify for the Scholarship.
