Enrolment and attendance

A young person will receive EMA payments once they have enrolled at a school or college and have started a valid course. The student agrees a two part contract with their school or college. The EMA Contract Part 1 sets out attendance requirements and must be in place before the student can receive their fortnightly EMA payments.

Payment of bonuses will depend on the young person showing satisfactory progress against learning objectives set out in their EMA Contract Part 2 (which might be identical to the school or college’s own Learning Agreement). Bonuses are also dependent on the young person’s on-going commitment to remain in education.

All payments will be made direct to the student’s bank account.
