Philip McCann
Philip has overcome essential skills problems and has completed a distance learning BA (Hons) degree in Learning: Technology & Research, achieving a 2:1, while also moving on secondment from his work as a nursing auxiliary to the Human Resources department at the Ulster Community and Hospitals Trust.
Studying on line has helped to improve his literacy and IT skills. Through the secondment he has gained knowledge about employment law, employees’ rights, negotiation, communication and presentation skills, presentation tools and software research.
Philip is currently leading the implementation of a national Knowledge and Skills Framework into the second largest Health & Social Care Trust in Northern Ireland.
