Schrader Electronics
In 2006, Schrader Electronics was faced with the challenges of both a new product launch and increased demand for its existing products.
Legislation had been passed in the USA called the TREAD Act which required every passenger motor vehicle to be fitted with a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Schrader is one of the few companies to make this component.
The management decided to modernize one of the production lines to increase capacity and this meant designing a training programme involving 100 employees.
Learners were aged between 16 and 65, were both male and female and some also spoke English as a second language.
As a result of the successful training, employees were able to produce the new product on the modernized production line and fulfil customers’ requirements, thus securing Schrader’s position as the number one company in its field.
One hundred per cent of learners achieved the highest level of competency and can now operate the machinery safely and without supervision.
