Voluntary and Community (or Third) Sector (lead Dept – DSD)
The Government compact with the sector, Building Real Partnership”, sets the framework for the relationship between Government and the sector and commits Government to work in partnership with voluntary and community organisations to achieve common aims and objectives”.
The Voluntary and Community sector makes a significant contribution to life in Northern Ireland and spans a wide sphere of activities and interests, ranging from small community interest groups such as tenants associations through to enterprises (some quite large) representing major charities or that trade as businesses. DEL's Involvement
DEL values the contribution that the Voluntary and Community Sector makes to helping it carry out is objectives of increasing learning and skills of individuals and prepare people for work”.
