Free careers advice and guidance on offer at Balmoral Show
16 May 2007
Minister for Employment and Learning, Sir Reg Empey, today paid a visit to the Careers stand at this year’s Balmoral Show.
The Minister met with Careers Advisers and congratulated them on the vital work they do in providing information, advice and guidance to young people and adults. The stand was widely attended by visitors to the show and the Advisers were on hand to offer free, impartial advice.
Commenting on the services offered, the Minister said: “I am impressed with the level of service available to all; choosing the right career is essential for a committed and contented workforce. Our Careers Advisers are on hand at key decision points in people’s lives, particularly young people in school. They play a pivotal role in helping people make choices and follow the right path into education, training or employment.”
Careers Advisers are available throughout the Balmoral Show, 16 – 18 May, to help young people and adults explore career options and find out about the support available through the Careers Service. The Careers Service offers a variety of services to people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
