Minister announces appointment to South Eastern Regional College Governing Body

Employment and Learning Minister, Sir Reg Empey, has announced the appointment of Mr Edward Jackson to the governing body of South Eastern Regional College.
For the last 20 years Mr Jackson has been the Financial Director/Company Secretary/HR and IT manager of a local construction company of which he is part owner following a management buy out in 1989. Prior to 1989 he worked in the company as a Management Accountant for seven years. Mr Jackson’s main responsibility is as Finance Director of the company; however he is also responsible for all matters concerning human resources and Company Law. Mr Jackson does not hold any other public appointments.
The governing body of South Eastern Regional College is responsible for securing the efficient and effective management of the college, agreeing and monitoring its strategic direction, appointing the college’s senior staff and ensuring that the college acts as a responsible employer. The appointment is for a period of four years from 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2014. The position is not remunerated.
