A very different kind of take away

Launching next months Job Take Away event at the Spires Centre, Belfast are Boan Sun from Jury's Inn, Brendan O'Hare from O'Hare and McGovern and Charlene McGuigan from British Home Stores.

Northern Ireland’s first ever “Job Take Away” is planned for Belfast at the beginning of March.

This new approach to recruitment of staff will take place at The Spires Conference Centre, Fisherwick Place on Thursday 1 March from 10am - 4pm.

Employer Liaison Officer Jackie Adamson, from the Department for Employment and Learning, explains further: “The Job Take Away has already generated considerable interest amongst employers, with 25 already signed up, offering over 150 jobs.  These jobs span the full breadth of occupational areas from sectors including retail, business administration, call centres, hospitality and construction.  Major employers such as British Home Stores, Jury’s Inn, O’Hare and McGovern and New York Nails have already signed up to the event.

“The concept of the day is simple.  People will have the opportunity to be interviewed by an employer and if they are successful they will literally take a job away with them.  Staff from local community organisations will be on hand to help complete application forms and prepare for interviews.

Jackie concluded, “This is an excellent opportunity to talk to a range of employers about suitable vacancies and also to secure an interview under one roof.”
