Success through Skills Progress Report 2008

Summary:

The publication of the draft Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland in November 2004 set out a vision of increasing our levels of productivity and promoting social inclusion through raising the skills levels of our workforce. As such, it formed the first overarching strategy for the development of skills in Northern Ireland and outlined many of the challenges we faced; from the need to increase the levels of numeracy and literacy in our adult population, right through to a need to improve our workforce’s management and leadership skills. It has therefore formed the basis for the development of skills in Northern Ireland for the past three years.
