ApprenticeshipsNI

Would you like to gain qualifications that recognise your skills?

Do you find the idea of getting paid while you learn and train an attractive proposition?

Have you found an employer who will offer you paid employment as an apprentice?

Then check out ApprenticeshipsNI.which offers a diverse range of training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications giving you the skills you need for your chosen career.

As an apprentice you will be with an employer and in paid employment from day one. How much you are paid will be agreed with your employer before you start / commence your apprenticeship.  For example you may wish to consider Computer Science, Construction, Motor Vehicle, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, or Catering to name a few.  Have you ever thought about when a joiner is not a joiner well could it be when he/she is perhaps, a carpenter or a cabinet maker!  Often we view apprenticeships as being only in the 'perceived' traditional roles of eg: electrician, plumber or as mentioned already joinery.  In reality there over a hundred apprenticeship frameworks providing opportunities in a diverse range of occupations.  Why not have a look - you owe it to yourself to find out more.

NOTE: On the 26 May 2009, Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Employment and Learning, announced measures to assist those apprentices within the manufacturing industry who have been placed on short time working.  The scheme entitled ‘Skillsafe’ has been created to help apprentices affected by the economic downturn and to ensure that any ‘down time’ they may have is used to their advantage.  For further information visit the Skillsafe website at www.skillsafeni.gov.uk external link. The scheme has now been extended to include tradable services with immediate effect.
