Hilarie Owen

Hilarie Owen has been a successful director, author, business strategist, founder and Chief Executive of the International Institute of Leadership. In June 2006 Hilarie was appointed to the new role of Head of Leadership Services for the Police in England, Wales and N Ireland.
Following a corporate career with IBM, then turning a large international publishing company around increasing its turnover by 600% and taking a year secondment with the Dept of Trade & Industry she broadened to consultancy. She went on to run her own business for 12 years working with boards of directors that included mentoring businesswomen in the UK and abroad. For two years she studied world -class teams including the RAF Red Arrows that resulted in her first book.
Her six books on leadership have sold globally including China. During this time she worked throughout Europe, the US and Middle East at board level with global organisations. In 2005 Hilarie was acknowledged for her work at Woman of the Year in London and in 2006 Distinguished Professor Warren Bennis invited her to Harvard to explore the best ways to develop leadership with him and others at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Hilarie is now setting up the Institute of Leadership at Gloucestershire University. She has also recently launched RENEW, the register of executive and non-executive women.
