Management Analysis and Planning - MAP

The Management Analysis and Planning (MAP) programme is a business improvement tool.  Utilising the latest on-line diagnostic technology it draws on the expertise of professional people development consultants working with individual companies to provide customised business training and development reports. It also signposts appropriate quality learning solutions to address skill shortfalls.

MAP aims to help an organisation:

  • better understand what they are doing well and where there are areas for improving management and leadership effectiveness
  • to become more focused and systematic in their approach
  • encourage companies using MAP to progress through to Investors in People, the UK wide standard for people development.

The key feature of this programme is the in–built flexibility to work around a company’s business demands, coupled with a streamlined operation that includes a maximum of three days’ consultancy fully subsidised by the Department for Employment and Learning.

Recognising the need to support and drive the process further the Department is proposing to offer a package of financial assistance to businesses that have fully completed MAP. The Department is proposing to offer a 40 per cent assistance rate against those eligible training costs associated with relevant MAP reports.

Eligibility:

The initiative is targeted at organisations employing between 10 and 250 people, who have not achieved the Investors in People standard or in receipt of Management Development assistance from Invest NI.
