Sectoral Development
The focus of Sectoral Development Branch’s work is on the development of the strategic skills needs of Northern Ireland industry. The Branch aims to identify, monitor and help develop the skills needed. This is achieved by collaborating with the the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) and 25 Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) to determine the skills, education and training needs for each sector. The SSCs have also developed working relationships with existing Sector Training Councils (STCs) in Northern Ireland (NI).
