WorldSkills competition
WorldSkills - the skills equivalent of the Olympics - is the biggest international skills competition in the world and is held every two years by WorldSkills International in one of its member countries/regions.
Entry criteria
Competitors must:
- meet the age criteria for the competition - to get involved you must be no more than 22 in the year of the competition and for Mechatronics, Aeronautical Engineering and Engineering Challenge competitions you must be no more than 25 in the year of competition.
- be resident in the UK.

Competition details
- lasts for 22 hours over 4 days
- tested against tough international standards
- around 1000 competitors taking part
- around 46 official skill categories - for example
- cabinet making
- hairdressing
- webdesign
- landscape gardening
Awards
Competitors compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. Medallions for Excellence are also awarded to competitors who achieve the international standard.
WorldSkills Competitions
