Global Winners

Northern Ireland competitors perform very well on the world stage.

In October 2011 at Worldskills London, Philip Green won a gold medal in bricklaying. James Cuffey won a silver medal in Landscape gardening and Stuart Millar won a bronze medal in Refrigeration and air conditioning.  The mechatronics team, Mark Maginty and Chris Downey were awarded Medallions for Excellence which are presented to those competitors who reach the world class level in their skills discipline.

Previous Competitions

In 2009 Trevor Woods won a bronze medal for joinery in Calgary, Canada.

In 2007 Jonathan Lloyd won a bronze medal for car painting in Shizuoka, Japan.

In 2005 Andrew Blair won a gold medal for autobody repair and Christopher Robinson was awarded a medallion of excellence for plumbing at the WorldSkills competition in Helsinki, Finland.
