Training for Success - Specialist Support
Specialist Support Providers (SSPs) listed below can supply additional support for individuals who require it, for example people with disabilities, so that they can benefit fully from training. SSPs work closely with the Department for Employment and Learning, the Department’s Careers Advisers and the Training Organisations. All Training Organisations have this list of the Department’s contracted SSPs. The Training Organisations specify programmes of work and select the most appropriate SSP to ensure delivery of the individual participant’s Personal Training Plan. The programme of work will be approved by the Department before the SSP is engaged
The SSP will be required to provide:
Counselling - to increase and improve a young person’s confidence, self esteem and value, enabling them to progress within their training, and
Pastoral Care - to ensure that appropriate child protection and equality policies are provided and observed.
SSP performance is monitored by the Department or an appointed agent.
