About Leadership and Management
The Department has the primary responsibility for developing government policy for management and leadership in Northern Ireland. Our remit extends to providing practical business assistance to NI businesses and to enabling and advocating investment in leadership and management skills.
The Skills Strategy for Northern Ireland – ‘Success through Skills – Transforming Futures’ – sets out the importance of management and leadership skills to the future development of the Northern Ireland economy.
Improved management and leadership skills are proven worldwide to be a highly effective way for companies to gain competitive edge and we need more NI companies to invest now to be better positioned for the inevitable economic upswing.
Working with a number of delivery partners, we offer a range of direct support programmes designed to meet the needs of different organisations. The programmes are promoted under the ‘Made Not Born’ banner. They include structured programmes for individual managers across a range of themes as well as tailored company focused programmes. All leadership and management training is delivered by accredited training providers.
The Department is currently offering 50% financial support to businesses and social economy enterprises that sign up to the Department’s suite of leadership and management courses. The initiative will run for a limited period.
We look forward to hearing from you.
